Success story Morocco / From Software Provider to SaaS Company: OMNIYAT Sets the Course for the Future

22.09.2026
How best does a company successfully transition from a traditional software business to a modern subscription-based model? This was precisely the challenge facing the Moroccan company OMNIYAT. With the support of SEC expert Mónica Garcia, OMNIYAT developed a clear strategy for transforming into a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, thereby laying the foundation for sustainable growth.

A Perfect Match for a Demanding Transformation
OMNIYAT develops and markets software solutions for the transport and logistics sector. To strengthen its long-term market position, the company decided to further develop its business model and gradually shift from traditional software licences to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. For this ambitious transformation process, OMNIYAT sought support from Senior Expert Contact (SEC).

SEC identified Mónica Garcia as the ideal expert for this assignment. As an experienced business consultant, she possesses extensive expertise in business model transformation, strategic development, finance, marketing and organisational development. This unique combination of skills was exactly what was needed to support OMNIYAT on its journey towards becoming a SaaS company.

Building the Foundations for the Future Together
The collaboration began even before the on-site assignment, with a comprehensive analysis of the company. Through a structured data collection process, information from all key business areas was gathered and assessed. Based on these findings, the expert and the company worked together on the core elements of the transformation.

During her assignment in Casablanca, Mónica Garcia worked with the team to develop a new organisational structure, a financial model for the SaaS business, a sales and marketing concept, and a pricing strategy. In addition, a customer onboarding process, investment plan, investor presentation and risk analysis were developed. At the same time, the expert held discussions with employees and helped the company unite all stakeholders around a common vision.

Concrete Results Instead of Theoretical Recommendations
The assignment generated tangible results as early as the consulting phase. Today, OMNIYAT has a structured and broadly supported roadmap for the transition to the SaaS model. Employees were involved in the changes from an early stage and were able to identify with the company's new direction.

"I believe that OMNIYAT is now in a strong position to successfully manage the transition to a SaaS business model," says Mónica Garcia.

CEO Saad Bennani also draws a positive conclusion: "Today, we have a clear and structured action plan with defined priorities, responsibilities and accountabilities."

The foundations for the future have been laid. During the implementation phase, the measures that were developed will now be gradually put into practice. New skills will be built, additional specialists will be recruited, and the integration of artificial intelligence will continue to advance.

The company employs 10 people and offers systems for transport and warehouse management, among other services. In response to technological developments and changing market requirements, the management team decided to gradually transform the company into a SaaS provider. The support provided by SEC helped establish the strategic, organisational and financial foundations needed for this transition, while ensuring employee engagement throughout the process.

Interview with SEC Expert Mónica Garcia

What have you helped the client to achieve? What changes are already visible?
There are several, but I would highlight the delegation of many tasks by the CEO, resulting in improved business efficiency, stronger team integration and increased motivation. Employees now have a better understanding of the changes and how these changes might benefit the company in the future.

Was there a special moment that stayed with you?
Above all, the day when all team members from different parts of Morocco came together for the first time to discuss the future of the company, share their ideas and define each individual’s role.

What were the client’s main challenges, and how were you able to help?
The client had developed strong logistics software, but sold it only on a customer-by-customer basis, with no standardised version. As the customer base grew, maintaining multiple customised versions became increasingly difficult.

How did the participants react to your insights and knowledge? What has been implemented?
They reacted very positively, because they had already realised they were reaching their limits. They knew that a solution had to be found.

How will your assignment help the client in the future?
The company will grow and be able to serve a much larger number of customers. In addition, recurring revenue will provide financial stability and enable continuous investment in improving the service.

Was there an encounter or story that particularly touched you?
I found each team member's personal story very interesting, largely because of the social situation in Morocco and the fact that the Moroccan culture differs so greatly from ours.

What advice would you give to another SEC expert facing a similar assignment?
For me, there are three essential points:

  • Conduct thorough online preparation and gather data in advance. This helps the client reflect more deeply on the company’s situation and allows the expert to save time for the next steps.
  • Be as flexible as possible when it comes to listening, learning and understanding the culture and customs of the country during the visit.
  • Adapt knowledge, recommendations and results to the client’s local realities, rather than to your own environment – this will help to maximise the project’s effectiveness.
